VFS Active Joints is a vet-formulated, high-protein dog food developed to support joint health in dogs of all ages, with a particular focus on the nutritional needs of active dogs and seniors whose veterinarians have recommended joint-supportive nutrition.
The formula draws glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate from three natural food sources confirmed in the ingredient list: cage-free turkey necks, New Zealand green lipped mussel, and egg shell membrane collagen. Together these deliver a guaranteed Glucosamine minimum of 750 mg/kg and Chondroitin Sulfate minimum of 1,000 mg/kg, both confirmed in the Guaranteed Analysis. Most foods that mention glucosamine do not publish guaranteed mg/kg values. VFS Active Joints does.
Omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA come from two marine sources: sustainable Krill Meal and Herring Oil. Both are listed with source declarations in the ingredient list. The Guaranteed Analysis confirms EPA & DHA combined minimum of 0.65%, which are among the highest EPA/DHA levels available in any over-the-counter dog food. These fatty acids support a healthy inflammatory response and contribute to joint comfort, coat quality, and overall cellular health.
Antioxidant support comes from Astaxanthin, Turmeric, Vitamin C (350 mg/kg min), and Vitamin E (500 IU/kg min), all confirmed from the Guaranteed Analysis.
